I’m Jorge Coca — an engineering leader, creative technologist, and passionate builder of teams, systems, and ideas.

As Head of Engineering at Very Good Ventures, I guide our transformation from a Flutter pioneer into a full-scale digital agency, delivering innovative solutions across mobile, AI, web, cloud, and other emerging platforms.

Something A Bit More Personal

I was born in Madrid, Spain. 🇪🇸 I have been living in Chicago (United States) 🇺🇸 since 2011. I am a proud immigrant.

I am married, and I have one kid (and another one cooking in the oven!).

I have a lovely dog; her name is Guiness 🐶 (yes, we mispelled the name!).

I am the only person in my family who speaks English.

I am the first person in my family that went to college.

My parents, my sister, my grandparents… all my blood-related family leaves in Spain. 4200 miles away. I miss them a lot.

I worked for 4 years at BMW leading the technical development of their mobile apps… but I am far from being a petrolhead!

I am a Google Developer Expert for Flutter and Dart.

I have traveled the world helping companies to build better technology products. I have traveled the world speaking at large technology events. I have been a keynote speaker.

I love music, and I play all kinds of instruments: guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin…

I consider myself resilient, friendly, supportive, focused, and empathetic.
